Redfish

Redfish (Sciaenops ocellatus), also known as Red Drum, are one of Florida's most sought-after inshore game fish due to their strong fight and excellent flavor. They are recognized by their reddish-bronze color and a distinctive black spot near the tail, though they can have multiple spots. The name "Red Drum" comes from the drumming sound they produce during spawning.

In Florida, Redfish are abundant and can be found in various habitats including estuaries, tidal creeks, and nearshore waters. They are known for their versatility and can tolerate a wide range of salinity levels. Redfish are popular targets for anglers due to their size and strength, making them a thrilling catch.
