Captain Carl Snodgrass

Captain Carl Snodgrass grew up fishing, born with a rod in hand and a passion for the outdoors.  Carl’s love for fishing was shaped by early mornings on creeks, rivers, lakes, and oceans alongside his siblings. After settling in the Tampa Metro area in 1986, he discovered the magic of Tampa Bay and never looked back. From fresh to saltwater, a lifelong passion quickly turned into a calling to guide others across one of Florida’s most exciting inshore fisheries.

Captain Carl brings over 30 years of experience fishing Tampa Bay’s 400-square-mile estuary. He is a licensed United States Coast Guard Captain and an active member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, ensuring every trip is conducted with the highest standards of safety and professionalism. His reputation as a top-rated Tampa Bay fishing guide comes not just from putting guests on fish—but from his patience, positivity, and unmatched local insight. Whether you're booking a family-friendly fishing charter in Tampa or looking to learn the area’s tides and tactics, Captain Carl delivers a welcoming, no-pressure experience for all ages and skill levels.

Beyond guiding, Captain Carl is committed to conservation and community. He volunteers with Tampa Bay Watch, helping build oyster bars and restore critical marine habitats. His efforts protect the fishery he loves while giving back to the waters that have given him so much. With deep respect for nature and a heart for sharing it, he’s more than just another Tampa Bay fishing guide—he’s a steward of the ecosystem and a proud ambassador of the Gulf Coast lifestyle.
