What you'll catch.
Costa Rica's Pacific coast is one of the best billfish fisheries on the planet, and the deep blue water sits close to Los Sueños. Sailfish are the headliner, with the hottest action typically running December through April, and marlin are caught throughout the year. Yellowfin tuna, mahi-mahi and wahoo keep the rods bent offshore, while inshore trips go after roosterfish, cubera snapper and other hard-fighting reef species. Every billfish is released, and the crew makes sure you have the photos to prove it.

What's included on a DreamWork charter?
Half-day charters include snacks, drinks, beer, and all bait and tackle. Full-day charters add lunch on board. Luxury packages can also include airport transportation, lodging at Los Sueños, fishing licenses, Beach Club access, a golf cart, chef-prepared meals and gratuities, depending on the tier you choose.
What should I bring?
Bring your passport for travel into Costa Rica, plus sunscreen (SPF 50+ recommended), polarized sunglasses, a hat, a long sleeve SPF shirt and your camera. If you are prone to seasickness, take something the night before your trip.
Can we keep what we catch?
Billfish, including marlin and sailfish, are catch and release in Costa Rica. Depending on the season and local regulations, you may be able to keep some tuna, mahi-mahi or other food fish, and your crew will let you know what is allowed on the day.
Is it customary to tip the crew?
Tipping is not required, but 15-20% of the charter cost is customary for a crew that works hard to put you on fish. Gratuities are already included in the Gold, Platinum and Platinum Elite packages.
